| Description |
The Robbins TBM was built 2003 for the Karahnjukar Project in Iceland and completely refurbished in 2007 for the Sigirino Tunnel in Switzerland (2'300 m length). For this tunnel the TBM was equipped with a new back-up system manufactured by Rowa.
Main technical data:
- boring diameter: 9.7 m
- power: 3750 kW / 5600 kW
- electrical engines: 10 x 375 kW
- thrust: 1800 to
- stroke length: 1.8 m
- total TBM length including back-up: 180 m
Rock support measures available:
- first working area: rock bolts, meshes, beams, shotcrete (manual)
- second working area: rock bolts, meshes, shotcrete (automatic)
Back-up installations include:
- bridge for construction of invert
- mucking with continuous conveyor belt (800 t/h)
- ventilation (duct diameter: 2.2 m)
- technical installations
