This machine played a critical role in the completion of the central artery project in Boston. It’s main use was to lift and install ceiling panels 40’ x 12’ which weighted 15 ton each. The crews could then secure, raise, adjust and reposition panels while they were on the machine. Manufactured by Lift Systems of P.o. box 906, 205 41st street Moline, Illinois 61265 1-309-764-9842 they served as a long time manufacture of Gantry Cranes. Original manuals and blue prints are available. Model year is 2000, platform dimensions are: 40' x 12' retracted 40’ x 16’6” extended, 40 ton capacity, platform can shift side-to-side and end to end 12” in either direction, travel speed: 10mph unloaded, 5mph loaded, weight of machine: w/o load 42,000 lbs. w/load 122,000 lbs. max, height of machine: collapsed 8' 1'' extended 22' 8", machine is self-propelled with 150hp diesel Perkins engine, can accommodate slopes of up to 8% longitudinal and 6% transverse, controlled by a wireless remote control box, solid rubber tires, this machine was designed to meet ANSI standards, can be moved on Landoll type trailer. Number of uses such as: heavy material transporter & installer, many other tunnel uses: beams, ceiling panels, work platform, general work, painting, sand blaster, conduit work |
